This is a public process done out loud. Your ballot will not be placed in the ballot box but in an envelope for declined ballots. Vote on election day You can vote in person on election day from 9 AM to 9 PM Eastern Time at the voting location assigned to you based on your current residential address.
When you enter the voting location, you will be greeted by an election official who will direct you to a desk. At the desk, you will show your ID to an election official who will check if you are registered on the voters list. If you are not on the list, you will be asked to complete a form to register. The election official will then issue you a ballot. You will go behind a voting screen to mark your ballot.
If you make a mistake and mark your ballot incorrectly, you may return the incorrectly marked ballot to the election official. The election official will cancel the ballot and issue you a new ballot. In a poll with technology, you will place your marked ballot in to the secrecy folder and take it to an election official operating a tabulator. In a poll without technology, you will fold your ballot and deposit it yourself into a ballot box.
Vote at an advance voting location You can vote at any of the advance voting locations in your electoral district. You will be asked to take an oath and sign a document to confirm you will vote only once.
Vote before election day at your returning office You can vote in person at your returning office from the day after an election in your electoral district has been called until 6 PM the day before election day. From the day after an election is called until six days before election day: When you enter the returning office, you will be greeted by an election official who will direct you to a desk. At the desk, you will show your ID to an election official and complete a Vote by Mail application form.
You will be issued a write-in ballot to complete.
